Jackson Resale Factory Counter Top And Cabinets

My craft room was ALMOST complete.  But I was still lacking some stand up work space.  I needed something counter top height.  With a counter top.  And some storage.  I spotted these waaaaaay in the back at the Jackson Resale Factory, in the semi darkness.  Man that place could use a few lights and some heat.  Oh and a bathroom.  Since when I'm in there, I'm in there at least an hour and if my kids are with me, their bladders can't always handle it.  But hey, if it keeps costs down, then skip all that.  They're wants, not needs. (Since when did a toilet become a need?)  The countertop was leaning against a wall with a price tag spouting $11.  I paid not much more for the cabinets.  They're willing to haggle with ya.  That's what I love about them Resale Factory boys.
After my hubby put it together for me, oh tough job that it was, I painted the whole shabang white.    And.  I didn't even use countertop paint.
Since the counter tops were an off white and clashed badly with all the white furniture in the rest of the room, I decided to try out paint on those.  Now I have painted my kitchen counter tops and they were  a huge success.  But I didn't want to spend the money on buying more counter top paint.  So... I used Bulls Eye primer, white semi gloss paint, and then poly-acrylic to seal it.  So far, so good!  I'm so pleasantly surprised and pleased with the outcome!
I also had some nice half moon drawer pulls leftover from when I changed up all the hardware on our bedroom set (which by the way, was my VERY FIRST BLOG POST EVER!!!) and found some small silver knobs I'd bought a few years ago at IKEA on a whim.

As you can see from this pic, top right corner, it's not perfect.  But good enough for who it's for (me!).

  3. looking fabulous...

Granite is certainly one of the most preferred sorts of kitchen counter since it is so awesome. It's a remarkably high quality countertop material that would be amazing in the kitchen area considering that it can deal with the abuse of a kitchen counter. If you're looking for a high quality counter-top which looks superb, granite is a reasonable choice for you. Marble may be a great choice too, but it could perhaps be more pricy.
