My Sister's Chic Living Room Makeover

So very proud of my little sister.
She was ready for light and cheery and... MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
I managed to sneak away (my hubby and kids leeched unto my leg and snuck away with me) to Iowa for not only Mother's Day to be with mi madre for the first time in thirteen years but also my darrrrrrrling little neice's first birthday.  My sister, Karly, had just finished a major living room makeover so I did a photo shoot of her GORGEOUS new room!  Enjoy this eye candy!!

I managed to convince her over the phone that the nasty dusty rose colored carpet had to go.  Especially since she knew there were hardwood floors hiding under there!!  She was positive it was going to be way to much work, I was positive it wasn't going to be as bad as she was anticipating.
*Knuckle rub on chest*  I love being right. ;)

To lighten up the look of her fireplace, she just watered down white paint and painted it on.  She also gave the top a nice new shade of gray.
The new chevron chairs are from Wal Mart and everything else was a "project".  My mom made the pillow covers with left over fabric from her own bedroom makeover, and the yellow table was actually one of the first tables I ever painted (okay so one of the sunday school girls happened to be visiting and I let her paint it) back in the day when I painted everything black.  I think I gave it to Karly as part of her wedding present six years ago.  I think it looks superbalicious in that bright new yellow outfit!

Mom made the rag wreath (following this tutorial),
and I painted the canvas for her as a birthday gift.
