Easter Word Cloud

Easter is not about chocolate bunnies and colorful eggs.
Yes, blogland is full of beautiful, fun Easter crafts and party ideas.
I've even pinned a few.
But how did we get so far away from the real meaning?
(Reminds us of another holiday we celebrated a few months ago, doesn't it?)
Want to read about the real story of Easter?  Click here.

Christ My Savior Was:
for me.
(source)

Thank you Lord Jesus.

The Bible says: "Christ died for the ungodly." Romans 5:6. "Christ died for our sins." 1 Corinthians 15:3. "Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the Just for the unjust, that HE might bring US to GOD." 1Peter 3:18
Did Jesus Christ ever do anything specifically for you for which you are deeply thankful?
Have you ever thanked Christ for dying for your sins?

Easy Easter Bunny Cake

To make this super easy bunny cake, I used two strawberry cake mixes, separated into one large cookie sheet (jelly roll pan) and two spring form pans.  The spring form pans make it a snap to remove the cakes.

Okay, a few disclaimers for starters:
#1.  I got this idea on Pinterest.  I went back to give credit to the originator and I had repinned it from someone who did not site the where it originated so I AM SO SORRY!  I get annoyed with irrisponsible pinners, but I don't think they usually do it on purpose.  If this is your idea, let me know and I'll give you the credit!
#2.  Cake decorating is definitely not my forte.
I can never get smooth frosting, and don't even ASK about the big "melted" looking blotches on my poor bunny rabbit's face!  OKAY?!

The thrilled little birthday girl!
I told you not ask about his cheeks.
So don't bother, I won't answer. :)

"Fenced" In Mirror {Master Bedroom}

HEY!  Know what?
"What?"
This ugly mirror that just got tranformed into a beauty was the LAST - I repeat - THE LAST - thing
I've been wanting to do before I actually showed this whole master bedroom redo to you.

Good thing my Daddy-o came for Tori's birthday party.
While mom and I decorated the chalkboard menu and dipped pretzels,
He did this for me.
All I did was remove the old frame, and point him to the mildewy pile of boards that used to be our fence.

Yes, I'm his mother and I know my little baby boy was one of the most hilarious looking babies of all times!  No need to hide that look from me!
Like seriously, one time I'm in the mall with him and this punk rocker kid comes up to me and says "Dude, like sweet mohawk".
ANYWHOOOOO.
We took that fence down a few years ago and now all those weeds?  Niiiice green grass.  Well, in a month or so it should be again.  Okay fine, so it's nice green weeds mixed with a little grass.  This post was so not about that - on with it!
There wasn't a whole lot of white paint left on the boards after laying in the weeds for three years, but there certainly was more than the finished look - Dad kind of went crazy with the scrub brush.  Ah well, after the initial shock of the chippy white paint having mostly vanished, I actually like the look.
The rectangle frame and other jazz I had looked super out of place so I went on a hunt in my house for something round.  I found this in my basement.  Pretty sure I picked it up at a garage sale for a buck.  I painted it aqua, the same aqua that I did my chair and antique dresser in.

This also might be one of the first peeks at our new flooring.  That post is still in the future.  Cuz if you think you can't afford new flooring... well I might just have to make you think again!

So whaddya think?  A little too rustic for ya?
Or you like yourself a little rustic raw wood?
I can already hear my Father and Mother-In-Law, "So.... you still have to paint it, right?" :)

Trash 2 Treasure Tuesday {Link Party}

Welcome to the Party!!!!

My Facebook status the other day said

"Hey, guess what? Spring will come.  It always does. ;)"

I'm trying to keep that positive attitude... as I put on my hat, mittens, puffy coat, and boots to run out to the barn. :)

Did you miss anything last week on the Korner?
Here's what I shared:

And now let's get on with sharing our Trash 2 Treasure posts with blogland!
How about some features?
You guys make it SO HARD to choose just a few!!

The Post With The Most (views):

Blue Star Antiques tells her tale of her high boy and Miss Mustard Seed's milk paint.

Just A Little Creativity painted a cute rocking horse- might want to check out her DIY chalk paint recipe.
Her's is a tad different than mine and it just might be smoother. :)
SONY DSC
I love everything Confessions of a Serial DIYer does, and I wanted to feature all of her ideas today!
But I decided on this adorable little trinket box makeover.  Perfection.

Please review the rules before you add your link- THANKS!

Trash 2 Treasure Tuesday Rules:

1.  Your post must be a Trash 2 Treasure, but I'm not picky on the "trash" part!
If you took something and made it look better and it's NEW to Kammy's Korner - link it up, Baby! :)

2. Place the Party button found on the right sidebar on the post or somewhere on your blog.

3. Visit the link before you and leave a comment!

I do try to visit each and every one of them eventually!!!  It's hard with three little munchkins who need attention and hate mommy's computer time. :)

Link up, Buttercup!

Bunny Birthday {My Tori Turns 3}

My little sweetie is turning THREE!
(We had to celebrate a couple weeks early this year).
This year's theme didn't take much thought as I took advantage of the approaching holiday.
Dollar Tree is full of "Bunny" goodies!

Now just so you know, I am not one of those "go crazy" party planners.  I have a theme, but just hint at it here and there, spend only a few dollars, and do everything but the cake an hour or two before guests arrive.
Do not expect anything too amazing or you might hop away with a limp. :)

My friend and partner-in-crime Maran made this banner for Tori as a baby gift.
Three years ago, obviously. :)
I stole it off of her headboard for the party.
I grabbed this darling rabbit out of the snow in my landscaping by the garage.

"Let me finish my Peep before tackling
 that heap of presents, kay?"
Now I'm ready!  And totally oblivious that
there's a gunman sneaking on the scene....

Nothing like a little "Bunny Bingo" to settle the cake!

Freebie Dresser in the Mystery Color

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I looooooooooove when someone calls me up and the first line to come out of their mouth is "Hey Kammy, I have an old [fill in the blank] and if you don't want it I'll take it to Goodwill".  That was the case a couple of weeks ago when Martha called me to see if I wanted Jesse's old dresser.  Oh, AND an end table!  OH FO SHO!!!!
I decided I loved the mystery color I painted my piano with, I'd do the dresser the same (that and I still had the paint on my brush and am too lazy to wash it out...)
And since that's all the talking I feel like doing tonight, I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
 Enjoy! :)
