Embellished School Uniform Jumpers

I saw these khaki school uniform jumpers for girl's at Children's Place one day.  I had absolutely no reason on earth to buy school uniforms... other than the price tag on them was slashed from $24.95 to $1.99 at Children's Place.  And that's all the reason in the world to buy not just one, but a few!

(Is that just me?! Or would you, too?)

I had found loads of lace once in a Goodwill.  I knew it would come in handy someday!  The buttons are strategically placed since I can't sew a straight line if my life depended on it.  Although, I do think this is the best I've ever done in that department.  Pat on the back.  Ha.

I had saved a scrap of fabric from my spray painted vinyl and zebra chair and it was the perfect piece to make a faux belt to dress up another one of the jumpers.

I still have one left to embellish... I'm waiting for more inspiration to hit! :)

  1. This is such a cute idea! I love taking plain things & dressing them up into something special-I know my little niece would love something like this :)

  2. You are not alone. Having five daughters I always buy in bulk. Especially if it's only sale, and I break out in hives of happiness if the sale items are fitted plain white t-shirts. My girls wear them with everything. This is such a super cute outfit. I would love if you shared this tonight on my link party. Welcome to the Woods Wednesday (http://backwoodsbabies.blogspot.com

  5. Did you ever finish off the 3rd dress? I had a few suggestions: adding a few whimsical buttons down the front, a cute iron on, using one of your stencils or something she'd really like and painting a design, Rit dye it or if you're so brave to, make a v collar. Update us if you did finish it off :)
