Reverse Color Signs on Thrifted Artwork

So probably my favorite thing to do of all times, (right up  there with making cards, eating yummy food, and driving fast), is making signs.  I just can't get enough of making signs.  So when I saw these colorful paintings on the Parkade in Cedar Falls for ninety nine cents each one day, I had to buy them.  My mom was with me and gave me one of those "you already have 346 similar things in your stash, DO YOU REALLY NEED THOSE" looks.  Yup.

I'm so sorry I defaced someone's beautiful artwork.  There was a day I probably would have put those in my house!  But... those aren't my colors, and I don't need them.

I decided to do a little "color reversal".  I only used two colors for these.  Starting with dark gray, then adding some light blue for the middle color, and then going all light blue for the last one.  Then I used the same colors for the lettering.  I only used two different fonts.  I love my stencils - so easy!     I also sanded the edges and fronts to give them a slightly distressed look and for a little bit of the old colors to show through for some character.
