Last time I was in Iowa, dad hauled me out to his shed (no, not the wood shed) and asked if I wanted any of his scrap wood. YES! Of course. No brainer, Dad. But he went a step further and cut them and nailed and glued them together for me!!!!! He brought me a stack and I was so happy I could have hugged him. But we don't really hug. Except sometimes when it's time to say good bye.
With mom's help, we put sawtooth hangers on the back and using paper taped to the wall first decided where we wanted them. Then we hung them up........
I got four similar frames from my stash in the attic which we painted black and then framed some 8 x 10's that I had printed off in black and white at good ole' Wal Mart.
Like my $6 thrifted chandelier I spray painted black? :)
I love that I now have some "eye candy" going up my stair way! It finally looks complete. :)
Thanks for stopping by!!

Such a good idea! It looks great!! And the pictures are pretty sweet too! DianeReplyDelete
You definitely have an eye for design! Your house reminds me of a Pottery Barn catalog----& I was a fan of that company even before it became 'the bomb'! ;-)ReplyDelete
I love the way your pics stand out on that wood! So talented. Your family is precious. I come from a 'hugging' family, hugs coming, going and in between. I might have been tempted to sneak a hug from your sweet Dad. BevReplyDelete
Excellent use of that wood!!! Thanks so much for sharing!!!ReplyDelete
I love this idea, it seems really simple too! I may just have to try to recreate this :)ReplyDelete
