milk glass lamp before and after

A few years back, I was really into antiques, and bought a pair of these lamps in a dusty, musty old antique shop.  A few years later I got inspired to do something to them.  Like make them ultra girly, for the girl I didn't (at the time) have.

Here's a break down of how this cuteness happened.  1. spray painted the metal silver. 2. painted the middle pink, and the bottom black.  3. glued black ribbon around the top of the shade, and a ribbon with little dangles around the shade bottom.  4. Dug in my jewelry box and found this pink broach, which happened to be the wrong pink, so I just painted it with the paint I used on the lamp base.  5.  Last but not least, was the tedious task of gluing on each individual little plastic pearl.  Didn't take as long as you might think, actually!  And there you have it - whether you wanted it or not. :)
