Pinkalicious Chair Makeover {HGTV Fabric at JoAnn's}

So if you missed my first post on the new HGTV fabric line at JoAnn's, then let me fill you in a little.  I was lucky enough to be contacted to do a promotion on two coordinating fabrics.  Here's a preview of my first project

This was the bundle I received in the mail.  I had to pinch myself to make sure I was awake.  This kind of thing doesn't happen to this little blogger very often!
 I wanted to try a project showing off the Checkered Past Berry fabric.  It is so thick and beautiful to work with.  Just loved the texture and bright colors!  It had a rather luxurious feel to it.

 Of course, when she saw pink paint, little sweetie pie just had to be right in there "helping".  I began with an old chair that I picked up for free.  It had been sitting out in the rain for quite some time so the wood was in pretty rough shape.  Nothing a little paint can't fix!  The pink I had on hand was too "bubble gum" pink so I added a little red to it and a touch of brown.  You can see in the bottom left photo, where I was trying out the shades of pink until I got what I was happy with.

 Unfortunately, I couldn't just take the chair seat off and recover it like I usually do.  I had to take out all the tacks and then I stapled the new fabric on as straight as I could.  Not my favorite job, but it wasn't too hard. Would have been much easier if hubby hadn't thrown away the old piece - looked like trash to him, but it was to be my pattern!!  I huffed a little, but I managed.  The yard of coordinating trim JoAnn's sent me wasn't long enough to finish off the chair, so I resorted to digging through my ribbon drawer and came up with some dangly beaded ribbon that I bought new in the package for a dollar at a garage sale.  I carefully hot glued it all the way around the edge of the fabric to hide the staples.

 And the good news is???  HGTV Fabric is 50% off this week at JoAnn's so if you pair it with this coupon, you'll get it for
 60% off!!!!
  Can't beat that!!  What are you waiting for?  Print and head to your nearest store!

See you tonight around 9:00 EST for the
Trash 2 Treasure Link Up Party!
