Antique Toolbox and A Living Room Peek

My mom had this old wooden toolbox stored out in Dad's shed and when I went out to visit them this summer she let me take a whole load of goodies home.  Dad wanted to cement the floor so all Mom's crap had to go.  Exciting!!!  She told me she used to have flowers planted in it.  As for the old license plate, I also went home from my Iowa visit with a stash from my Grandma's house.  Ooo la la!

The perfect place for magazines and books, of course!

The 1949 license plate is just held on with thumb nail tacks from the dollar store.
I know there has to be something significant about the year 1949 since Grandma collected plates that had a special year... but I sure can't think of what that would be!  Let's see...  Grandma turned ten??  I dunno.

  1. I love what you did with the toolbox. I am also loving your living room. That Floor!! I also love your area rug, wall colors and the clock. I couldn't get a large picture of the clock but if it is what I think it is - too cool!
