Great For A Glass {Petite Side Table)

I've had this little wooden stand for years, and it's always the perfect thing to bring out for gatherings on the patio so someone has an extra spot to set their drink.  It's always been quite sad looking, but I never did anything about it.

I scrounged around in the photo archives looking for a "before" since I totally forgot to take on and came up with this.  Yup, I'm in a pirate costume for my boys' birthday and they're not even in theirs!  It was also 102 degrees F that day.  I think that costume held five pounds of my stinky sweat when I took it off.  And, umm, don't judge my green thumb.  I don't remember to water potted plants very well.  Yes, okay, you can judge me.  I'm a disorganized, plant torturing, but always-ready-for-fun mom. Ha.  Wasn't this post supposed to be about the little table anyway?!

When my mom was here last month, the time for it's new look had finally come.  she painted it white and aqua with my secret and exclusive to Kammy's Korner DIY chalk paint recipe.
(Neener, neener)
I think those were my orders.
Not that she always listens to those.

Here's how it looked when she was done.  Quite nice, Mom. I like it.  I really do.  Just needs something.
Kinda lacking in the "charming" department....

So I went rippin' through my stencils and pulled out one I had made with an exact-o knife and put a cool gray fluer de lis on the top.  Then I plugged in my sander and gave it a good distressin' all over.

A ha!  Shabby Chic Perfection!

That's what I'm talkin' 'bout!  Right there, baby!
