Odds and Ends Lemonade Stand {Shabby Chic}

8:30 PM Monday night.
Five year old:  Mommy, can I have a lemonade stand?
Mommy: Tomorrow might just be a perfect day for such a thing!
Five year old: No, not tomorrow, NOW!
Mommy: Everyone's getting ready for bed.  Besides, we have to make the stand!
Five year old: Let's hurry, someone still might want a drink tonight.

A few minutes later, we emerge from the barn with this:

A stand for a fish aquarium and a cheapo table with screw on legs.
My friend gave me that fish tank stand ages ago and I just knew there had to be the perfect use for it.  Thanks Sarah, finally found it! :)

Daddy was a hero and screwed the table legs in to the boards for us.  And then (not pictured) I found a cupboard door the exact right size to put on top.  The "canopy", however, is not yet attached, I just set it on the top.  It was sturdy enough though.

This chalkboard was made with an antique frame and DIY chalkboard paint.

Here's a confession.  Before blogging days, I would have stirred up the lemonade or ice tea in a plastic generic version of a Rubbermaid pitcher and called it good.  But oh no.  Not anymore.  That wouldn't do for photos.  Gotta have blogger-approved-type vintage bottles or something of that genre now-a-days.  Oh and jute.  Don't forget the jute.  Extremely important.

We have oodles, and oodles upon more and more oodles of blackberries in our back forty.  We tried selling those too.  Fresh picked and organic!  No takers, though.  Except, I swapped the neighbors for some fresh sweet corn.
We still go by the barter system in these here parts.

The back view.
Neighbor Grandpa is wondering when it will be refrigerated.
 We'll be right on that.

You know when you flip the spray paint can upside to clear it out when you're done?  I did it inside, hoping it would cover a little more than it did. :)

So until the refrigerated system gets installed, it holds the money, used cups, and The Rats Of Nimh.

And here they are, anxiously awaiting the masses!

Unfortunately, when you live in the rural country....a car goes by about every thirty five minutes.  And they aren't going slow.  Fortunately, a lady on a very long bicycle ride happened by.
  And she was thirsty.

  2. This is so cute! My kids would love this! Unfortunately we are also in a neighborhood with limit traffic. We may have to give it a try anyways.
