Most everything seemed to be half hanging or had disappeared when we purchased this foreclosed home. That was okay when it came to the towel bar in this bathroom. I wasn't digging it anyway. I knew what I wanted though. A rustic piece of wood with a hook screwed in the middle. While on my search in the shed one day, rather than finding the perfect piece of wood, I came across this:
An old drawer I had salvaged off a pile of junk on the side of the road during what I call "Parma junk days". It had a cute front, and who knows... I might do something with it someday. :)
It was well made, and prying the face off wasn't as easy as I thought it'd be! But it eventually came off and I just needed to give it a fresh coat of white paint.
Exactly what I needed, and I didn't have to spend a dime! Now that is what I'm all about.
Can I say something about that adorable sink and those vintage copper faucets? I'm not sure who ever thought those were a good idea.... You either scald your hands under one, or freeze them off under the other! No in between. But they sure are cute!
