Aqua Side Table {Cutting Edge Stencils}

  Last fall, I got a message on Facebook from a wonderful lady I used to work with asking if I wanted an old side table that she didn't want anymore.  But of course!  She left it on my porch when I was gone one day and my hubby stuck in in the "off limits" room and I almost forgot about it!  Then I had to relocate my pretty little round table and I needed to find a replacement.  Well shucks, I didn't have to run out to the barn to go "shopping" in the snow!  How nice. This little table was just sitting right in the room off the kitchen waiting for me!

As you can see, there was nothing wrong with it... but the black just didn't match the spot it was going to go in.

I adored the aqua blue table that was previously there, so I decided it had to be the same color.  I also wanted to add a little pizz-azz.  Cutting Edge Stencils had sent me the Rabat All Over Craft Stencil for my fireplace surround and I loved the pattern (See the fireplace HERE)!  So I used a mixture of a taupe paint and gray paint and stenciled the top.  I love how it turned out!

  4. Hey Kammy - quick question on this project. It looks like this little table has a leather insert top. Is that right? Did you do anything special to prep it or just paint right over it? I have a coffee table in my garage with the exact same "gold" design around the leather. You've inspired me to paint it! :)

    1. I had a coffee table with a leather insert before and I just used stain on it and kept the leather look. This table however was definitely not real leather, just a very cheap look alike, so I didn't do any prep. I think however, if you use chalk paint you should be fine. :) make sure to link it to here when you do it!!
