Mandala: From A Table Top... For a Table Top (or wall!)

All you need is the Prosperity Mandala Stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils, and paint, one of those cheap round tables that have the three screw on legs. Without a doubt, you've passed by them at a garage sale for $1.  Anything more than a dollar at a garage sale and you are getting scammed! :)  I've come across some a time or two with missing legs.  BUY. THEM. ALL.  Cuz you can make some serious prettiness!!

Not sure the tables I'm talking about?  I'm embarrassed to show you this one... but yeah I did that.  On one of "those" tables:

Here's the stencil I used for this project:

Mandala stencil design stenciled wood table mandalas

I have the 24" mandala stencil.  It's huge.  As you will notice if you look hard enough, the complete design is not on my cheap press board wood table top.  Cuz the big stencil hangs over the edges quite a bit.  No matter - that's the beauty of this big stencil!  You can just use the middle of it if you want!  Or the outside to frame something for that matter!  Now my creative juices are a flowin'... I think I'll go look for something to frame with that delicate scrolly Mandala edge.  Shall I put your picture in the middle?

If you use a foam roller - ALMOST DRY - you will have this design done in about 30 seconds!
Key here folks, is minimal paint!  Hence "almost dry" in all caps.

So I left the metal hardware on the bottom so it can sit on a table and be slightly elevated, so it's not direct wood-on-wood.  Awesome center piece!  I think I'll also add a hook to the back so it can be hung on a wall.  Hello to gorgeous round wall decor!

And before I go, here's one I did on old barn wood in white.  Pretty, pretty!

  3. Nice ! I have an ornate, round wooden table I got for a song. It has no table top, used to have a glass top I think.I'd like to mosaic the top or make a mandala design as you did. I'm so not experienced ! You show the stencil, painting it with black. Was the top white? And I like the brown wall hanging as well. Love your creativity !
