Would you pick up a calendar hanger/holder for a quarter at a garage sale?
You bet I would! :)
I've been working a lot with old lath boards lately.
If you've remodeled an old home ever, you know the stuff I'm talking about!
I shudder to think of how much we threw on the burnpile a few years ago because I didn't win the battle to save all of it.
You know, this battle that I have with my husband all. the. time.:
So thankfully, my mama gets me, and she was helping her friend Courtney on a home remodel and brought me some bundles of lath boards last time she came to visit. Yay!!!
After painting the wood black, I cut some lath boards and glued them on the bottom of my soon-to-be tray. Then used an old purse strap for the handles. I cannot sing the praises of this Ryobi air staple gun enough. I shot two staples into each end of the "handle" to secure it.
Then the whole thing got a few coats of polyurethane.
I was very blessed to have this sweet girl, Laura, come with my mom for a visit while she's in the USA all the way from Columbia. We taught her the English word for "crafting". :) Along with the a few other phrases like "oh boy" and "...so fun, the kids had a ball".
Like it? Pin it! :)
Stay tuned for more LATH PROJECTS!!
