My Office Before and After

Well, I guess it's the week to reveal our offices!  Laura from Our Prairie Home just revealed her office - OH WOW it is full of shabby chic goodness and I'm quite envious! Click HERE - it's a must see.  Just don't forget to come back! ;)  And then there's Thrifty Decor Chic with her gorgeous office reveal.... so thought I'd join the ranks and reveal mine.  Okay so I kind of already did once, but it was a poopy post and I've changed a few things.  Also, to be honest, I wanted to have something to link up other than my craft room on Thrifty Decor Chic's new room parties.  Lame, I know.  But that's the truth!  Haha.
The next picture shows what this corner looked like before.  Yes, it is the same room, same angle!  The window is the same window... okay, same location but different window since the stump grinder guy shot a rock at the window and busted it real good.  :)

And this "before" is shot from the same direction as the next photo:
Click HERE for a before and after of the desk and how I glammed it up.

The ceiling fan was a hand me down from Tim's aunt and you can see how I spray painted it and made it a little more fab HERE.  The little stand holding the printer still needs some black paint, but I just can't get myself to do it.  Sheesh, Kammy.  The little bench/coffee table actually goes with a vanity waiting to get redone out in the barn.  But since I'm having some major issues with the drawers  (got them pulled out by some major force, and now they won't budge, in or out!!!)  and probably won't get done anytime soon it, has a home in my office.  Click HERE to see the awful before.  Someone thought it was a good idea to cover a bunch of marker lines with an ugly pillow sham!  haha.
Notice the details in the ceiling?  If you've been following my blog for awhile, you know I don't like boring white ceilings!  All though there are still plenty of them in my house....  slowly working on that!
See the far corner?  Yeah, that was how big my crafting area was in this house's previous life.    The window on the right side is now gone and opens up into our addition and the corner where the mirror is is now the kids's library.  See any similarities in the picture below? Yup, it is the same corner! :)
I find the kiddos sit on pillows to look at books easier than on a chair, so that's their little library area.  Since someone will probably ask, the cat paintings are portraits of my awesome Manx cats, Dolly and Taffy, painted by my mom.
Pillow sham thrown over loveseat, thrifted made over lamp, and my barn wood photo colage.

One last shot - of the opposite corner.  The closed door was a closet that got torn out.
And the after of that corner?  There she is:

The black wardrobe was given to me free from my friend, Marie.  It's contemplating a makeover. :)

Hope you enjoyed the little tour of my office!  If you missed my craft room reveal from yesterday, check that out and also my Trash 2 Treasure Party is still going on so if you have any qualifying projects, I'd love to have you join in and link up!!

  4. The pillows for sitting are a nice touch. Somehow, my nephews prefer to sit on the floor when playing and reading. Some square pillows would surely be more comfortable than the floor. The new flooring is perfect.

  7. Two thumbs up for the transformation you accomplished! The stripes on your wall, the wardrobe, and every detail of your room shows that an office can turn into something beautiful with a touch of personality and style.
