I had three plain, boring, pillows. The only thing going for them was they were TURQUOISE!!! They needed some sprucing up. |
|
This one is OH FO SHO my favorite!! |
|
If you want my short tutorial on how to make a fabric rosette, I explained it HERE on my duct tape boots post. You just have to have a really, really, really, reeeeeeeeeeeally long strip of fabric to do one this big!!! (Okay, so i didn't, but I just kept adding more and more to make it longer). I used hot glue to glue it on the pillow. Put a little glue on the pillow, wrap it around. More glue, twist and wrap some more, until the whole pillow was almost covered! |
|
Using regular ole' white acrylic paint, this one I stenciled. Stenciling a squishy pillow on this kind of fabric wasn't the easiest, but it only took a couple a few minutes. Very in-keeping with my kind of projects!! Nothing too time consuming allowed! |
|
And last but not least, some small flower rosettes that I attached with hot glue. I've shared this pillow before, back in November actually. Someone then asked me if the glue would hold up and my children make "throw"pillows live up to their name and they have stated attached just fine! :) |
And before I leave, I want to show you my friend Debra's pillow that she stenciled using a
stencil I made. I love how it turned out!
Huckleberry Vintage has some REALLY great new items - be sure to stop in and snoop around if you haven't been there in awhile! Here are a few of my latest faves:
Wow, all of your pillows are nice. The pillow with the smaller rose is lovely. I need to do pillows for my living room, I'm thinking the pillow with the large flower will work well. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYour pillows turned out so (sew) cute. I'm really loving the one with the large rose on it. Your plain pillows sure pop now! What a fun project that made a major difference.
ReplyDeleteBada bing bada boom you're done! Much better Kammy :)
ReplyDeleteLove the new pillows, Kammy! Great way to make over the plain (but what a great color) ones. :) I found, btw, that using a fabric medium along with acrylic paint really helped me work the paint into squishy fabrics - in my case, it was a microsuede. I love the softness of the little birdie, though!
ReplyDeleteHmmm...I keep finding my way here. I think it's time I followed you :)
