Word Art Isn't Just For Indoors

A few weeks ago when I conned my Dad into being my guest blogger some of you noticed the scripture verse painted on the side of my garage in the background of a photo and asked about it.  So, here's a little up close.  My mom is extremely embarrased though, because she did the wording for me (using chalk first and then paint) and every time she sees it she complains about how awful her letters are and I can't take a picture of it until she redoes it.  Well, I got tired of waiting, sorry Mom.  It's good enough for me!  I'm not into perfection!
Too bad the lilly's and hostas weren't both in full bloom for this pic!
Before:
I was having a hard time finding a before pic, so this one with my Uncle Sid and Aunt Linda chillaxin' will have to do.  Yes, this is the same swell uncle that helped redo my barn room, who also made it onto the blog just last week in my Barn Facelift Post!  Wow, Sid!  Twice in a week!

Sorry for the crappy photo quality of this shot but I wanted to show you how we put tube lights across the roof line - it illuminates the whole side of the garage so nicely and looks great when we have company hanging out late on the patio.  (If I actually remember to plug them in, that is!)
Oh, and I gotta brag on a product real quick before I let ya go.  I got a new Lilla Rose headband in the mail the other day and oh my word, it's awesome.  I'm a headband girl, but I usually gotta take a Tylenol because of the headache I know it's going to bring on.  Not so with these - adjustable and stretchy at the bottom - wow!  I wore it ALL DAY today and didn't even know I had it on.  Check them and all their other beautiful hair accessories out here:

And stay tuned for a new giveaway coming soon from Lilla Rose!
Woot, woot!

  1. I think your Mom did a great job on the lettering, Kammy! Now if I did it ~ you'd have to repaint the whole side of the barn! : )

  3. Very neat! I'm not sure painting something like that on the front of my house would work... it'd look terribly tacky in my neighborhood. Too bad I don't have a shed in the back yard ever since the last one blew away lol. I love it that you have a place you can do it!!

  4. Wow I love that!!! My garage needs re-painted badly, I would so love to do something like this on it. I would need a stencil though or have your mom come to NE for a visit, lol.

  9. Your sign is wonderful. As a retired teacher, tell your Mom that she gets an A+.
