Pillows. Peeeeeelows.

I'm on a big honkin' pillow kick right now.  Probably because my mom bought me FIFTEEN (I paid her back) of these pillows at a furniture store because they were a really good deal.  I've been having a blast embellishing them.
Here's how they looked in their original state.  You want to know what the silver fabric is from that I used for those big huge rolled rosettes?  Get this: a bridesmaid skirt from my wedding.  Yes, my bridesmaids did actually look like they were wrapped in tinfoil.  What's your point?
The light and airy fabric came from a a huge curtain I just picked up at a garage sale for twenty five cents.

Totally love the white ones that came in the mix.  But they're just begging for.... embellishing!!!
This is my first time actually making these kind of flowers.  I can't believe they turned out so well.  I used a hot glue gun, since I stay away from the sewing machine as much as possible.  In fact, ALL my pillow embellishing was done with a hot glue gun!!  I did however, make the pillow cover for the one on the right.  That fabric was also from my mom.  Ain't she a sweety?  I love it when she comes to visit - she usually has a big bag of goodies for me. :):)  I'm spoiled....
The center of the yellow flower on the left is a clip on earring, and on the right I just hot glued small bronze colored beads in the middle of each opening.

Now just for fun, let's look at some pillows I've done in the past.....

Inspired to go do some of your own pillow embellishing yet?

  2. Love all of them, Kammy! The yellow flowers would work for something I'm doing now. Any chance of a tutorial? I don't mind sewing, but if I can get away with not having to, that would make it go faster.

  4. Yes, I'd love a tutorial too - I'm a little stupid when it comes to fabric. And don't sweat the tinfoil bridesmaid dresses - my bridesmaid looked like they were in mourning (the fabric was on sale - thanks mom).
