This black and white set I did way before I ever entered into the ginormous world of blogging.
I painted them and sold them. No poly or anything.
I hope whoever bought them doesn't track me down and sue me for all the scratches.
And then one of my super wonderful awesome sponsors, Huckleberry Vintage, came along.
She sells loads of these shakers. In gorgeous shabby chic colors!
So I promise I won't sell any in my future Etsy shop, Heidi, but you sure inspired me!
There they are hiding in another wood painted wonder from the 80's. Directions: So to paint the shakers, I used some homemade chalk paint (stirred a little Plaster of Paris into my aqua paint), applied two coats, and then sanded it off here and there to distress them. Then I put a coat of polyacrylic on them so they are washable and won't easily scratch. And if you are looking to purchase a pair yourself, look no further than Huckleberry Vintage Here are some of her cute shakers for sale. Something I never thought to pick up at the flea market! Love all those colors.
ReplyDeleteI've never considered buying & painting THOSE, but it's a HUGE improvement!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. Makes it so perfect for a spring table setting. Especially for Easter.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea! Its a fun way to add an accent color into a room without adding "one more thing." I'll be keeping my eye out while thrift shopping.
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed! Nice work ;-)
