T-shirt Scarf (Necklace) Picture Tutorial

I love making these.  And wearing them.
 So chic.
I HATE writing tutorials, as well as following directions
So I've never actually seen instructions on how to make one of these, so this is totally my own version.
I'd say it's pretty easy, but if you've seen a better one, well what can I say?
So since I hate writing tutorials, I thought I'd do it in picture form and insert a typed direction when necessary.

So here we go:

First, cut the hem off of the bottom of the t-shirt and save that for a fabric rosette or something.
Throwing anything away is a sin, you know.
Then start cutting all the way around, in a spiral until you get to the top (or have to stop when you hit the screen print so you don't have something like "The Fools 5K" on your scarf).

Cut.
Start pulling your long strip, stretching it as much as you can.  It will curl.
If you just so happen to have any little hoodlums in your home like I do, note that
they find this part of the project extremely enjoyable!!

Yeah, three full rolls of paper towels seem to be the perfect size. :)

Either hot glue or sew on any embellishment you want!

  1. Suoer cute! I love scarves but am so picky when it comes to material-I feel like a T-Shirt would be so comfy and easy to wear. This is also is a great way to upcycle old Tees-thanks for sharing!
