The Fabulous Ficek Back Yard

Annnnnnd that's a wrap on spring break.

  With wonderful memories tucked inside my head and heart, photos to tell of our adventures, and life long friendships created, I'm already looking forward to our next trip down South!  We spent time in the following states: Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, and and mostly South Carolina.  While in South Carolina we met up with an old friend, Ted Ficek, and his beautiful wife Rachel and two kids who we didn't previously know.  Oh dear, you can't even imagine the kind of girl Rachel is. We were two peas in a pod - she loves junk as much as I do!  Boy, if we would have had a few more days together, we could have done some serious damage!  More on that another day.

I want to show you some of Ted and Rachel Ficek's awesome backyard.  If they dream it, they do it!

Ted made this old barnwood table on-the-spot.

The back deck is hung with vintage lanterns that were lit up when us weary travelers pulled in after dark.
  Such a fun welcome!

Look closely at this fountain.
Any ideas how they made it?  It's base is two large flower pots put end to end, a bird bath, topped with a pineapple that I think she had to break down and buy.  They found the water pump at a garage sale and Rachel salvaged old bricks to go around it.  I told my hubby to study it over real good so he could replicate it for us.  Ha.

 And now you know what you can do with those old tires!

Ted built this too.  There's not much this guy can't do, okay?  The white part way at the end on the left he built for Rachel's photography studio, but it has since turned into their daughter's gym for her to practice gymnastics.  And boy is she good!

 Wasn't that great?!  I felt so inspired being there. :)
