BEFORE: Pulled these out of a thrift store, painted them black and recovered the cushions. Cushions are the easiest to recover - just buy some clearance fabric, pull it real tight, and get staple gun happy! Then for extra protection, I applied a coat of clear polyurethane. |

JUST A QUESTION WITH ALL THIS PAINTING...LOOKS GREAT BUT HOW DOES IT HOLD UP - CHIP/SCRATCH..ETC.?? JUST WONDERING.... MARY
ReplyDeleteWell, with any painted piece, it is definetly susceptible to chips and scratches but there are a few things you can do to make it hold up better. Prime first, paint, and then wait a few weeks for the paint to "cure" before you use the furniture. Also, put a coat or 2 of polyurathane on top of the paint. That really protects it, although I haven't found one that doesn't turn my white paint a yellowish color!
