I don't like talking on the phone much. But when a friend calls and starts out with something like this "Hey Kammy, just thought I'd check to see if you wanted _________ before I donated it to Goodwill", I'm all ears! I'm shoutin' "SURE" before I know what it is! This time it was this desk. A FREE desk? Oh yeah! After sittin' in my barn for a year, I finally got inspired to paint it last week when it was so beautiful outside and put the finishing touches on it Saturday. |
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteyou got style girl!
ReplyDeleteBest job on this. I did not expect furniture on a Wednesday. This is the great story!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THIS! I found a yellow desk (exact shape as yours) in a parking lot. Brought it home and it played hostess to my sewing machine for a year. Last week it became a beauty in stainless steel paint. We buffed silver onto the original hardware and now the entire thing shines. Yep, the daughter adopted it as her official vanity. Yours is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat exact desk lives at my house. Now if I can just convince my hubby that I need to paint it. hmmmmm
ReplyDeleteThis looks great! I stumbled upon your blog from another blog you had posted on. Have you or anyone you know had any experience painting a laminate roll top desk? I have one I got off of craigslist and love the storage but it really could use an update. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI would use lots of Wil Bond or something similiar (liquid sandapaper) and paint away! Allow lots of dry time between coats and then use a polyurethane to finish it for protection. Allow it to cure a long time (a few weeks - the longer the better) before actually using it!
ReplyDeleteYour stenciling is fantastic! And I love the black and white combo. I would keep it too!!! Great job!
