Shabby Chic Valentine Decor From a Repurposed Clock

I actually painted this clock frame white and gave it a new face awhile back, but even with new batteries, it wouldn't keep time.  So it is now serving a new purpose - spreading love around with jute hearts and girly colors and such.

I tossed the clock mechanism in the garbage since I'm trying not to be a hoarder like that, and used good ole' Elmer's glue to secure some fabric over the clock face.  Then I just got glued some thick jute rope (twine) around a heart shape that I drew on with a pencil and painted the frame pink.  I sanded off the edges so the white would show through and since jute and shabby just go hand-in-hand down the beach together, yo.

I understand there are lot of negative feelings out there about Valentine's Day, but me?
I've always loved it!

  1. This is so cute Kammy! What a great trash to treasure. Projects like this are really making me look at things before throwing them out! You never know what an old object can be transformed into!
