A garage sale in a trailer park and a few dollars got me this bursting-with-potential nightstand. |
I have never had paint bubble before... Does anyone know if leaving it out in the cold was to blame?!! |
I wasn't about to strip the whole thing down, soooooo one side has a little imperfection! Humph. "As is" discount. :) |
I did a little distressing on the edges, painted the hardware with black spray paint and gave it a high five. |
Did you see I'm giving away a Shabby Apple Necklace?
Very pretty! I like the colors that you picked too.....can't even tell where you had bubbles...
ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely! And so much more interesting than the "before". I wouldn't have given it a second glance. Awesome work :)
ReplyDeleteI love it, I think it is the cold I've had paint not stick because it was so cold out before!
ReplyDeleteWow Kammy that looks so cute! I can`t believe you eyeballed those stripes, they`re perfect! I would have had a near anxiety attack over getting them straight and even :)
ReplyDeletephew! at least you saved it! :) i LOVE the diagonal stripes- fabulous idea!
ReplyDeleteThe cold was probably to blame, but you made a great save.
ReplyDeletecan't help you with the cold issue but, i must say, it looks great from here!!
ReplyDeleteI love how it turned out!
ReplyDeleteI think it looks great anyway!

Awww. I think imperfections can sometimes be the thing that really sets a piece apart. It reminds us of the hard work done to bring a piece to life. It reminds us we're human and we learn through trial and error. This piece is really something to be proud of. It looks so pretty and good on you for seeing its potential. :)
ReplyDeleteYou said you primed, but even a light sanding before that step would have probably been best in order to remove the shiny finish which is my opinion of the bubble issue. That's why I think you had the problem. My(now, retired) husband once was the manager of a very high-end furniture mfg. company and they kept strict even temperature controls in the finishing area. Regardless, imperfections are how we learn our lessons and the shabby-chic look is so IN now that no one will suspect that this wasn't planned. Smile, it's great!
