Backing a Drop Front Desk/Cabinet With Laminate Flooring

I sooooooo badly wish I had a "BEFORE" shot of this when I bought it ohhhh ten years or so ago.  It was beastly with paneled doors that slid shut across the bottom.  I paid $2 for it at a garage sale.  It was one of my first furniture bargains that I transformed.  But, I didn't do a great job.  Like at all.

And the black paint scratched off so much that every time I found myself with a paint brush that had black paint on it in my hand I would go touch this thing up. :)  Look, I didn't even paint all of the back.  Oops.

So we had some extra laminate flooring from our kitchen.  I wanted to use some old tongue and groove boards from out of the corncrib but I was afraid it was going to add too much weight to it.  Each piece was cut to size and laid on the back before securing it on with the nail gun.
(sorry for the crappy coloring in these photos!)

See that floor?  Yeah.  Same stuff that's on the back of this drop front desk/cabinet. :)
