Gettin' Creative With Wisconsin Cheese Boxes

I know some of the most awesome people.  People who live next door to the school so I never have to try and find a parking space.  People who give me free ice cream at the fair.  People who are willing to spend all day junking with me.  People who give me all the fresh sweet corn I could possible eat.  People who bestow me with things like a stash of CHEESE BOXES FROM WISCONSIN!!!!!
Yes.  I know some wonderful people!

Here's what I've done with a few of these awesome round boxes:

This one got a white wash of paint, and then since I was having a hard time throwing away the hem off the t-shirts I was making scarves out of, I rolled the hems into flowers and hot glued them on to the top of one of my cheese boxes!  I love how it turned out.

Perhaps my favorite one; I painted this one with leftover paint from my piano and then used a wooden star to trace the shape on to the lid with a pencil.  I used painters tape to stripe it off and painted the star with a creamy white.  So rustic chic!

I was having so much fun transferring images with freezer paper last month, that I made this french selection from The Graphics Fairy and added it to the top of one of the cheese boxes.  Then I used a wood stain to darken the wood up a bit.

Thanks for allowing me all the "fun with cheese boxes", Rachel!! :)

  1. Like them all, but the last one best! How about doing a transfer of a damask or other type of print?

  2. Each cheese box is uniquely lovely. My favorite is the one painted with left over piano paint with a white stencil design.
