Embellished Living GIVEAWAY!!

I'm thrilled to be hosting a giveaway for Embellished Living this week!

Embellished Living is giving away a set of  beautiful wood painted and distressed letters that spell what we all need to give and receive, "L O V E".
These would be a beautiful pop of color in any room!
Painted in Wildflowers and Sweet Potato Pie.
Just the names of the paint colors make me want these in my house!!

The letters are approximately 8x5x1" and are made from a light weight base, making them super easy to hang with a simple Command velcro strip (not included) They look great hanging on your wall, sitting on a bookshelf, mantle or table, or incorporated into a gallery wall.

Just who is behind "Embellished Living" anyway?

"We are best friends that met through a local mom's group when our (now 13 and 14 years old!) kiddos were little. After getting together to craft and try new projects for years, and with much encouragement from family & friends, we decided to explore the world of craft shows and online sales. In 2011, with the help of a couple other friends, Embellished Living was created. We have been on quite an adventure the past few years, thanks to Etsy and Pinterest. Our monogram wreath is our baby and we are so happy to be able to share it with all of you, and are thrilled that you love it as much as we do! In 2012 our little adventure became an official LLC, while that was very scary, it is also very exciting! We continue to change and grow, but one thing doesn't change, and that is our commitment to bring you a quality handmade (by our own hands) product that you can enjoy for years to come. We put our hearts into every product we make, from our Monogram Wreaths, Seasonal Wreaths, and Wine Glasses, to our other personalized home decor items"

Use code ELMAY10 for 10% off your order from now through the end of May!

Remember, you can't win if you don't enter. :)
Good luck, I hope you win!

This giveaway is open to US residents only.

I verify each entry so play by the rules, or your entry will be eliminated.

Lilla Rose Review and GIVEAWAY!!

I'm a very excited girl.  Very excited because I get to introduce you to a great product that you are going to without-a-doubt LOVE with all caps.    First of all, let me say I use a pony tail elastic in my hair almost every day (headband sometimes if I'm going out) and the only variation is the color of elastic I might have in!  I was quite skeptical to be honest that I would like something like this.  I've tried every sort of hair clip and claw available and they usually end up stuffed in the back of a drawer.  That and the plastic pieces end up busting. Well let me tell you something. Gail Harris from Lilla Rose graciously offered to let me choose two Flexi clips - one in the small size for wearing my hair partly down and for pony tails, and the medium for putting all my hair up.  Since I've tried it, I haven't wanted anything else in my hair and that's the truth.  Now, let me introduce you:
Not only do they hold your hair amazingly well and super easy to put in, they are BEAUTIFUL works of art with so many to choose from!

As you can see, I have quite a bit of hair!  So of course, I was almost like "Yeah right...  "  Boy was I "Yeah wrong"!

This is the medium size that I chose.  No plastic pieces to worry about breaking and it's all one piece so you don't have to worry about losing the stick part. The one in my hair is the Intricately Designed Motif.  It's much prettier in person, I was having camera hardships.
Since these arrived about the same time my mom came to visit (I guilt tripped, begged, and pleaded with her to drive 500 miles to help me makeover my bedroom!), I decided to get her opinion too since she has very thin hair.  You know what?  She loved it SO MUCH that not only did she wear it every day, but she wouldn't give it back and took it home to Iowa with her!  She said it could be her Mother's Day present. :)
Another view of mom's hair with the small Prominent Dragonfly Flexi Clip.

Not sure what size you need?  Watch the sizing video HERE.

So just to get another opinion, from someone who is VERY opinionated (ahem), I managed to part with my Flexi clip for a day so my sister-in-law, Teresa, could tell me what she thought of it.  She scribbled out her review on the inside cover of a coloring book and handed it and my Flexi Clip to me in church tonight.
Here's what she had to say:

"Great functionality - easy to use, pieces stay hooked together, so nice for storage, and easy to grab and go.
Good fit - fits my hair well, very solid pieces, fit nice against head, no "poke".  Stayed in place, except when I ran really hard (but I won the race! :))
Nice Look - fancy, shmancy - at least compared to my plastic claws.
Price - worth the money, yes!"

So there you have it!  Now head over to Lilla Rose Inc and see which one you would like to win!  Comments do not count as entries - you must use the Rafflecopter entry form below.

NOTE: there is FREE SHIPPING until April 28th!!
Order now for a Mother's Day gift your Mama will LOVE!

Throw Pillow + 400 follower Panera GIVEAWAY!!!

Who wants some FREE Panera?!  I'm celebrating reaching 400 followers!!!!  See how you can enter at the bottom of this post, yes Sir!
It's a perfectly fine throw pillow.  A cheapy from Wal Mart.  But it had some stains on one corner.  Could it be because my kids think the only reason we have them is for them to sit on and pull each other around the house on our slippery floors? And for pillow fights?  And to assist in fort building?  Obviously, they can't be for decoration. I must put the pillows back in their designated places at least fifty two times a day. Probably more like fifty six.
So there it is, in all it's boring glory, with black spots and marks, probably from the permanent marker Ty decided was  one of his "tools". Everything ends up as one of his "tools" and gets lost in one of his five "tool boxes".
I made some rolled flowers with some scraps of fabric and hot glued them right over the top the stained corner.  Much faster and easier for this ADD chic than sewing.
How to make fabric rolled flowers: cut a loooooong strip of fabric.  Tie a knot in the middle.  Twist the two long pieces (there are two tails now since tying the knot) together and coil round and round the knot!  Hot glue that baby down.

Giveaway Time!!!

And now I'm doing my wild happy dance because I never thought I'd see the day Kammy's Korner reached 400 followers!  Seriously, I thought I was really getting somewhere when I had 37!!!  I think I even called my mom to exclaim the thrilling news.  Thirty seven followers, mom?!  Can you believe it???  Anyways, to "Ceeeeeelebrate good times, COME ON" let's have a giveaway!  I took a mini poll on Kammy's Korner Facebook page and it seems the peeps would like a shot at winning a Panera Bread gift card!  So, how about it?  Who's up for $15 at Panera?  Mmmmm cheese and broccoli soup, si por favor!!!!  Since this is a follower giveaway, you must be a GFC follower of this blog.  If you're not, click "join this site" on the right sidebar and add your little thumbnail pic to the collage of beautiful faces.  :) (sometimes blogger is a pain in the patooie and it doesn't show up, just reload the page and cross your fingers and it will probably magically appear.)

Seasons: An Amish Girl's True Story Review and Giveaway

When I was contacted by Elizabeth Byler Younts to do a book review and giveaway on her new book, Seasons, I was thrilled but also a tad bit apprehensive. You see, I've never done anything of this nature, but I have always been intrigued with the Amish lifestyle, having visited many in their home as a child, and I agreed.  The story had me from the beginning.  For me, a story is always so much better when you know it is true.  Elizabeth had her grandmother recount her life growing up and was able to write this beautiful book in the first person.  It is heart wrenching, and it left me completely flabbergasted at my own selfishness and ungratefulness; how I can complain about not having the right color of shoes for an occasion, when this little girl (Liddy) often went without shoes.  How I'm annoyed if my meat isn't cooked to my liking at a restaurant, when Liddy never felt the satisfaction of a full tummy.  I'm going to stop right there before I give any more of the story away, but this story left me feeling so humbled and more appreciative for the little things in life.  Though it is a tear-jerker, I am happy to say you will close the book with a sigh of happiness.  If I could describe Seasons in one word, it would be beautiful.  It is a beautiful story, and beautifully written.

Read the five star reviews readers are giving Seasons on Amazon and purchase your own copy HERE.  Or, you can enter the giveaway to try your hand at winning a signed copy of Seasons!  This is a book you can share with your children.  I read a chapter aloud each day to my oldest son.  He was on the edge of his seat and I had to stop every other sentence to explain new concepts to him, but he would beg me to continue when the chapter was over.  (Depending on how sensitive your child is, you may want to skip over a few parts, as I did!)

Here are a few reviews I read on Amazon that I whole-heartedly agree with:

"This book is amazingly inspiring and at times heartwrenching! I laughed I cried but most of all I am in awe of this amazing woman who endured so much in life yet rejoices daily for all she has been given. I am inspired to be more thankful and grateful in my life as well. Elizabeth Byler Younts writes such a fluid storyline that really pulls you in and makes you not want to put it down."

"This book was such a joy to read! The story will warm your heart, and make you count your blessings. It is beautifully written and you connect so well with the characters, and the genius is, they aren't characters! This is the true story of a real, wonderful woman. You feel the struggle, experience the heartbreak, and are lifted up in moments of joy."
Here's how YOU can enter this wonderful giveaway!

Hello, Facebook! "LIKE" for a chance to WIN!!

At the urging of a new found friend who is also an internet marketing something-or-other, I finally made a Facebook Fan Page.  I was never quite sure of the benefits of this, but I guess it helps get the word out. Also since MOST of my friends who read it are on facebook but for some reason or another refuse to be a follower (you know who you are!!), I thought this would be less intimidating and at the same time help me meet my goal of actually making this my little "stay at home business".  So for a little incentive...  The FIRST 200 people to"'like"   Kammy's Korner on Facebook will be automatically entered to win a $15 Applebee's gift card!!!  And this isn't even something I have sitting around.  I'm shocking those closest to me with this, I know.  You know my gift cards are like gold to me.  We don't go out to eat unless we have one!  (Or the place has a dollar menu!).  Random.org will select at random a name from the first 200 fans and you'll enjoy some applebees grub on Kammy's Korner!! :)  Hurry before it's too late!!  CLICK HERE!!

Back to the subject at hand:  There will be more giveaways in the future!  PLUS, Why wait for a giveaway??  You can purchase these beautiful hair accessories for super low prices at Kammy's Korner Online Store.  Know why I keep my prices so low?  Because I'm also a woman who likes a deal.  I like to support "handmade" but I also am a thrifty, money-conscientious mama!  So I try to put a minimum price on my items so that we both win.  I make a small amount of profit, but you get a good deal.  I wouldn't buy something if it wasn't a good deal, so I wouldn't expect you to either!
