Colored Shrug With Easter Egg Dye

My little white shrug has had it's share of baby burp up and who knows what else and was too yellowed to wear any longer.  It had been tossed in my rag drawer.  Then....  I thought about the Easter egg dye I had been saving in my fridge since last year.  Yes, last year.  I might want to use it for something, ya know!
Yeah, it looks nasty cuz it's been sitting in my refrigerator door for over a year.  Since 2012 Easter has come and gone, it's time to do something with this stuff!  Haha.  It's also SUPER clearanced out now and you can literally buy it for dimes at most stores right now.  Hey, why not pick up one?  I'll show you it ain't just for eggs!
I dumped it some green, some yellow and added water.  Wow, I forgot  we made the dye last year with vinegar.  Ooooo stinky.  Anyways, I let it soak overnight and then rinsed it out.
It was SUPERRRRR windy out so I hung it up with clothes pins to dry, under our trampoline.  I'm waiting for hubby to put my umbrella clothes line back up, the hole got filled when we got our "new" yard.  BAD idea.  Am I dumb or what.  The shoulders now each have a big pimple.

Anyways, I'm happy my little white shrug got to be freed from the rag drawer and is now back in circulation!!

  2. I never thought of doing that. Great idea! Could make some tie dye shirts with it. I didn't save ours, should have but I have some extra I could do for a project this summer.

  4. You never cease to amaze me. Really. That's an awesome color! It looks brand new! Of course the model being smokin' hot has nothing to do with it either. ;)

  5. You are my kind of gal. If you have nothing to lose, try an idea out-it just might work-as it did in this case!
